Tennis
The era dominated by the "Big Four" of tennis appears to have finally drawn to a close. Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray have all announced their retirement.
Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic experienced a noticeable decline in form during 2025; failing to win a single Grand Slam title throughout the year, his performance came as quite a surprise to his fans.
This shift in the landscape signifies that the throne of the "World No. 1" in tennis is now vacant. A new generation of players has risen to the occasion, vying for this coveted honor—with Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz emerging as the undisputed frontrunners.
In 2025, these two young stars swept all the major titles, claiming the trophies at all four Grand Slams as well as the ATP Finals. Sinner and Alcaraz’s exceptional performances have already established them as the leading candidates to become the next generation of tennis legends.
As fans, we look forward to seeing the tennis world in 2026 build upon the excitement of 2025—and perhaps even reach new heights.

Golf Tournaments
Thanks to the rise of the LIV Golf League, the sport has become increasingly exciting in recent years. Sponsored by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, the league has injected elements of style and vitality into a sport traditionally perceived by the public as somewhat "staid," significantly boosting tournament viewership ratings.
Ultimately, however, the core of the sport of golf remains its four major championships. On every major tournament weekend, fans gather in front of their televisions to watch stars such as Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Brian Harman, Jon Rahm, and Wyndham Clark compete on the course.
Therefore, golf's four major championships rightfully deserve a place among the lineup of major sporting events in 2026.

Badminton Tournaments
The immense popularity of badminton in Asia—particularly in Southeast Asia—goes without saying. The sport boasts a massive fan base in the region; indeed, it comes as no surprise that the majority of the world's top badminton players hail from Asia. In recent years, badminton players from Europe—and even the Americas—have begun to rise to prominence. While the sports world has certainly seen its share of non-Asian badminton stars in the past, the emergence of this new generation of players has undoubtedly made the landscape of the sport far more diverse.
Players such as Anders Antonsen, Viktor Axelsen, Christo Popov, and Alex Lanier are now counted among the elite masters of the badminton world.
This signifies that the titles at major international tournaments—such as the Thomas Cup, the Uber Cup, and the World Badminton Championships—are no longer the exclusive domain of Asian teams. This competitive landscape, brimming with suspense and unpredictability, is precisely what keeps the sport of badminton vibrant and dynamic.

Other Events
Rounding out the list of major sporting events for 2026 are two additional competitions worthy of special mention.
In the United States, the Super Bowl holds a status akin to a grand national festival—a nationwide celebration of epic proportions. Americans’ passion for the Super Bowl borders on fanaticism; come Super Bowl Sunday, the entire nation gathers in front of their television sets to watch the game.
Today, the Super Bowl’s popularity has long since transcended the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, evolving into a global sporting phenomenon. As the championship showdown of the National Football League (NFL), the Super Bowl offers highlights that extend far beyond the action on the field; the Halftime Show is equally—if not more—anticipated, consistently featuring performances by top-tier artists. The 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show is set to be headlined by Bad Bunny.
If the Super Bowl is the undisputed highlight of the sporting calendar in February, then the spotlight in April undoubtedly falls upon WrestleMania. As the premier annual event hosted by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), WrestleMania commands a level of global attention that arguably surpasses even that of the Super Bowl.
The reason for this lies in the fact that WWE’s roster of wrestling stars has long since broken through the boundaries of their sport, making frequent appearances in Hollywood films and television shows to become household names and icons of pop culture. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, John Cena, and Dave Bautista are prime examples of stars who successfully transitioned from the wrestling ring to the bright lights of Hollywood.
